Students at the Fiji National University will now enjoy free and unlimited access to the internet.

This comes after Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum launched free WiFi hotspots at Derrick and Nasinu Campuses today.

Under the ‘digitalFiji’ initiative, Government has funded Walesi to work with FNU to install high-speed WiFi across 24 campuses.

Sayed-Khaiyum says the idea is to create zones where young people can come together, share information and be able to communicate with each other.

The AG says that Walesi received $19m funding for digital revolution.

FNU Vice Chancellor, Professor Nigel Healey says this digital capability will give the students the opportunity to access study portals wherever they are on campus.

The Solicitor-General, Sharvada Sharma was on-hand with his board members and Walesi team to guide students through the log in process.
