“Emergency medicine is still a young specialization, the Australian Health Minister approved the recognition of emergency medicine as a principal of specialty only in 1993 and in Fiji we are still building up this specialism with the support of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM).”

ACEM is the peak body for emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand, responsible for training emergency physicians and advancement of professional standards.
