FNPF to increase it's awareness on retirement balances

April 15, 2019 5:45 am

The Fiji National Provident Fund is looking at avenues to increase the level of awareness for its members with regard to retirement balances.

FNPF’s General Manager Customer Services Alipate Waqairawai says they have set a member education advocacy team in order to achieve their aim.

The team intends to go out to work places and communities to have one-on-one meetings with its members.

He adds this is being done as members know very little about the Fund.

“When we go out we assume that our members know simple information about the FNPF, but the fact is that most of them don’t know simple things which we assume they know. Being better informed is the first step of making a better retirement plan.”

Waqairawai says so far, the team has visited over 260 workplaces and close to 10,000 people have attended the one-on-one sessions.

This will enable them to enhance their knowledge and save enough for their retirement.
