FNPF to celebrate its 50th Anniversary

July 31, 2016 7:03 pm

The Fiji National Provident Fund has come a long way in the last 50 years growing from a $30,000 Fund in 1966 to a $5 billion institution.

Board Chair Ajith Kodagoda says this is commendable as the FNPF celebrates its 50th birthday today.

Kodagoda says while the legacies and success stories of the past 50 years are worth celebrating, the Fund recognizes the need to re-emphasize its core purpose as a progressive social security provider.

He says the Fund has come through its own challenges and tribulations; and will continue to evolve to better serve its members in the next few years.

Kodagoda also acknowledged the support of the government which stood by the FNPF during the reforms and modernization process that began in 2009.

As part of its 50th anniversary the FNPF will open a Customer Services Office at Downtown Boulevard, a new mall in Greig Street in Suva and will undertake various Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
