FNPF members urged to plan for retirement now

October 11, 2017 1:04 am

The Fiji National Provident Fund has been creating awareness at workplaces and in community advising people to plan for their retirement now.

General Manager, Alipate Waqairawai, says members often leave their retirement plans to the last minute.

“One day the regular source of income that we receive on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis will stop. What is your source of income as you retire in the future that will enable you to look after yourself. A lot of us don’t look or think about these things and some of us are now 40, 45 and even 50. We are asking the members to please come to the FNPF office and seek advice.”

The Fund had earlier revealed some members who have reached retirement age have only around five thousand dollars in their accounts.
