The Flour Mills of Fiji Limited’s biscuit business faced a setback in its exports to New Zealand and Australia.

He adds the company has opted to move the production to their own facility in Thailand.

FMF also saw a drop in other household products to Asian competitors.

Punja says, overall, biscuit exports to just these two markets decreased by $7.95 million.

FMF plans to focus on local brands and reduce dependency on contract manufacturing.

Meanwhile, the newly opened biscuit factory in Veisari outside Lami is expected to be shipping products to the Melanesian market soon.
