Flying Fijians through to the Rugby World Cup

The Vodafone Flying Fijian have qualified to the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan as Oceania One after beating Tonga 14-10 in the Pacific Nations Cup match.

Both teams were locked 3 all at the half time break.

Leone Nakarawa scored the only try for the Fijians while Ben Volavola was the hero of the side slotting in three penalties from his boots.

Fiji will be pooled with Australia, Wales, Georgia and Americas 2.

This will be the fourth consecutive time Fiji will meet Wales in the World Cup and second consecutive time against Australia.

Meanwhile, Flying Fijians match against Samoa is just for formality but if Fiji manages to beat the Samoan’s, they’ll secure the Pacific Nations Cup for another year.

Fiji plays Samoa next Saturday in Apia.
