FBC News spoke to some residents who were simply terrified last night.

It was a long night for Meli Nacama and his family who say they feared for their lives as strong winds and heavy rain brought flood waters to their doorstep.

Nacama says, after living through a super storm like Tropical Cyclone Winston, the weather last night left him and his family praying to God for safety.

At around midday the rain clouds began to clear and water started to recede with some roads still inaccessible to vehicles.

The latest report issued by the Fiji Meteorological Services states that as the weather improves, more warnings and alerts will be cancelled.
