Flood warning in force

A flood warning is now in force for the low lying areas, small streams and areas downstream of Ciri station of Tuva River in Sigatoka.

A flood alert remains inforce for the low lying areas and small streams; for Vanualevu, Northern and eastern parts of Viti Levu; and areas downstream of Nasivi station to Tavua town; and areas downstream of Vatukacevaceva station to Rakiraki town.

The Fiji Meteorological Department says the level at Ciri Station was 2.69m at 9.00am which is 0.19m above warning level and increasing.

An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over Fiji.

It is expected to affect the group until tomorrow.
