Flood brings back tragic memories of Winston

December 28, 2016 5:01 pm

The recent floods brought back tragic memories of Tropical Cyclone Winston for many families that were affected in February.

Fiji Red Cross Operations Manager Eseroma Ledua says they have received feedback from the ground that people were left traumatized after Tropical Depression 04F.

“Reports that we received from people is that this was the worst flood they’ve ever experienced even in Rakiraki. So just looking back to what TC Winston brought to Rakiraki after a few months back was devastating and then this flood came in again. So they are still in a state of shock-some of them still cannot think through what has happened to them from TC Winston till now even after the massive flood.”
