A flood alert is now in force for the low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to major rivers for Vanua Levu and Viti Levu.

It is also in force for the low lying areas, small streams and areas downstream of Nabukelevu station.

The Fiji Met Office says tropical depression TD08F was analysed 35km South-southwest of Koro or 45 km north of Gau at 3am this morning.

It is expected to gradually move northwards towards Vanua Levu with the associated rain bands affecting the country till tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a flood warning that was previously in force for the downstream of Nabukelevu station to Sabata station has been downgraded to flood alert.
