With flash flooding reported in some areas in the Western Division members of the public are requested to call the Western Division Command Center on 9905457 or 917 if they need assistance.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they’ve received reports of flash flooding in several places, these include Semo Village, in Tavua, Mataniwai road is underwater and is closed to all vehicles.
The Yaladro flat is also closed because of flooding, with the Malele Bridge only open to small and light vehicles with the bridge partly damaged by flood waters.
Meanwhile Officers from the Sabeto Police Station along with the National Fire Authority had to assist a 23 year old Kasanita Musu and her baby after delivering her baby.
A staff nurse called on the emergency response team to assist with transporting mother and baby to Nadi Hospital.
Naisoro says, standby teams with other stakeholders are ready to assist those affected.
