The Fiji Roads Authority says one of its biggest challenges is fixing the roads because they’re in an appalling state.

Millions of dollars have been spent on repair and maintenance works in the past for some roads while others have just been neglected.

FRA Change Manager Mike Rudge says they’re now ready to repair and maintain roads.

Three overseas contractors have been hired by the FRA for next year’s road works.

The Government has allocated $422m for road works in 2013.
