A five-year-old boy has passed away after being electrocuted while attending a function with family over the weekend.

Police confirms the boy was later taken to the Bhanabai Health Center in Makoi, Nasinu for treatment.

Police says the incident happened at Painapiu Street in Nakasi when the victim touched an iron rod post of a corrugated shed.

Police are investigating the matter.
