Five men remanded for alleged robbery

Five men have been remanded in custody for their alleged involvement in a robbery in Raiwaqa last year.

It is alleged that Jone Vonu, Asaeli Bulitaitini, Waisake Loabure, Iosefo Lomala and Rovereto Tamanivalu broke into a house in Raiwaqa on the 1st of May last year and stole assorted items worth thousands of dollars.

The five have been charged with one count each of theft and aggravate robbery.
High Court Judge, Justice Salesi Temo said that people are crying out because their homes are being robbed.

Justice Temo said there will be no mercy for those who make a living by breaking into people’s houses.

The case will be re-called on the 15th of June 18.
