Five appear charged with aggravated robbery

Five people, two of whom are juveniles, have appeared in the Nasinu Magistrate Court charged with aggravated burglary and theft.

All five who have been remanded in custody were allegedly involved in a number of house break-ins in the Nakasi area.

Police have recovered some of the stolen items including laptops, mobile phones, brush cutters, shoes and a safe.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred between February and last month.

It is alleged the five accused have been involved in a total of 11 reports of house break-ins.

Police are warning members of the public not to accept or purchase items they believe to be stolen.

People who are caught doing so could also be charged with the offence of “Receiving Stolen Items”.
