The Public Accounts Committee sits for the first time today after the September general election.
The committee is tasked to scrutinise State accounts of twenty two ministries.
The Committee is chaired by Opposition member Professor Biman Prasad and it will scrutinise Auditor General’s reports from 2007 to 2013.

According to parliamentary standing orders, the PAC or any other standing committee performs its functions subject to section 74 of the Constitution and any other written law governing Parliament.
