First National Land Master Plan for Fiji

There will soon be a National Land Master Plan with all the information on development being undertaken anywhere in Fiji.

Permanent Secretary for Land Tevita Boseiwaqa told FBC News the Master Plan should be completed in the next two months.

Boseiwaqa says the project will assist in planning for the future and centralise information sharing for all stakeholders.

He says officers from the Ministry of Lands, are collecting information from all stakeholders .

“Once the Master Plan is in place then the stakeholders can use this to make decisions, very important decision on their planning on how they want their projects to take place.”

He says the move is in line with Pillar 6 of the People Charter which says more land should be available for Productive and Social Purpose.

The Master Plan will be handed to the Prime Minister who is also the Minister for Lands.

The master plan will be tabled at a Cabinet meeting.
