The first shipment of bauxite is now making its way to Sundong Province in China.

Commissioner Northern Lieutenant Colonel Ilai Moceica says the ship Yong Song left Fiji yesterday carrying sixty thousand tonnes of bauxite.

Another shipment is expected towards the end of the year

The ship arrives in Sundong Province in the next 17 to 20 days.
