Seven homeless after house fire in Veisari

A family in Veisari, Lami is now homeless after their home was completely destroyed in a fire yesterday evening.

FBC News was at the scene and confirms that more than a dozen firefighters responded to the incident.

Three fire trucks were deployed from the Suva station.

Neighbors say the house was given out for rent to a family of seven.

It’s also claimed that the house was set on fire following a domestic dispute.

Home owner, Niko Naicori claims the man who allegedly set the house on fire was drunk.

“They were screaming and shouting so I went there and asked them to stop drinking. To stop shouting and everything like that. Then I went home. After 5 minutes he put the premix inside the house and burned the house. I went there but it was too late for me.”

The NFA  is working with Police to investigate the matter.
