A 70-year-old woman has died following a house fire at Saweni Feeder Road in Lautoka.

Police confirms the deceased who was a stroke patient, was trapped inside the house when the fire started.

The flames has destroyed a 10 bedroom house with 3 flats.

In another incident, a carrier got fire at Bangladesh, Tavua yesterday.

The owner says the fire started from the engine compartment as they tried to control the flames from spreading.

The Fiji Police wishes to advise the public to take extra precaution this holiday season.
