A fire truck driver has been ordered by the Suva Magistrates Court to pay a fine of $400 otherwise he will go to jail for three months for careless driving.

In November last year, Paul Livanisiga was driving a fire truck that hit three vehicles while he was attending to a fire call in Raiwaqa.

The drivers of the vehicles reported the matter to Police and Livanisiga was charged.

Magistrate Makereta Mua said Livanisiga should have driven safely although he attended to a distress call.
