“We are humbly pleading with members of the community to take some time and discuss fire safety to ensure that whatever we can do to stop a fire or eliminate any sources of fire – we can address.”

O’Connor says firefighters will be on stand-by today.

“All our stations are on 24 hours alert and we will be monitoring all the activities. We’ll have some fo our officers moving around and checking and direct our teams according to areas where we find could be high risk.”

O’Connor says fire incidents have decreased this year and they plan to keep it that way.
