October 18, 2017 4:50 am

Six families were left homeless after a fire fully engulfed their homes in Navasa settlement, in Nabua outside Suva today.

It is alleged the fire started at about midday from one of the houses.

One of the house owner Nirmal Singh says he lost everything but was fortunate to have his wife and son escaped tragedy.

Singh’s wife, Nileshni Kumar says they have lost everything they prepared for Diwali.

Kumar adds it’s an awful experience seeing her only son experiencing everything that happened.

Firemen are currently at the scene and investigations continue.
