An investigation is underway into a fire which destroyed a two bedroom wooden house in Vuci Road, Nausori last weekend.

The National Fire Authority, Chief Executive John O’Connor says they received the call at around 3.20pm and responded within minutes.

Three trucks were sent to the scene but fire-fighters were unable to contain the inferno and most of the house was destroyed.

The NFA says there was no one at home at the time of the fire.

Home owners are being urged to shut off and unplug appliances that are not in use and check all combustible items before they leave their homes
