Fire at Police Quarters in Nasese contained

Firefighters have managed to contain a fire that broke out at the Nasova Police Barrack in Nasese, Suva this afternoon.

Firefighters have managed to contain a fire that broke out at the Nasova Police Barrack in Nasese, Suva this afternoon.

An eyewitness, Jone Ravili says the fire started at 2.45pm from the middle flat.

Ravili said when he came out, he saw people running out of the flats.

“When the fire started from the top, people who were at the bottom started to rush out and take their luggage out. But it was too late, the fire had already spread.”

The National Fire Authority says an assessment will be conducted to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Firefighters are still at the scene and the fire has been contained.

Four flats have been damaged due to this fire.
