Final molasses shipment being loaded at Lautoka wharf.

The Fiji Sugar Corporation is loading its final molasses consignment for 2018.

Chief Executive Graham Clarke says the total production of 21,000 tonnes of molasses is being loaded on the Motor Tanker currently berthed at the Lautoka wharf.

Clarke says the molasses will be shipped to the Philippines.

According to Clarke, of the total consignment, 9,500 tonnes was loaded at Labasa.

The CEO says that the demand for Fiji’s molasses is high with even a small consignment supplied to Tahiti and also locally to Paradise Beverages.

Apart from Australia, Fiji is the only other country in the Pacific that supplies molasses.
