Fiji’s bilateral relationship with Australia and New Zealand looks promising as it continues to rise to another level.
This after Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s recent visit to Australia that further strengthen the bond of the two countries.
Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes says the newest “Vuvale Partnership” with Australia assures an increase in activities with Fiji.
“Your Prime Minister’s talks with my Prime Minister was very fruitful, very warm and very constructive, yeah that was a very historic partnership which will really consolidate or codifies everything we are currently doing and charts the way forward for the future of our relationship.”
Meanwhile, New Zealand High Commissioner Jonathan Curr says as for New Zealand, they will continue to assist Fiji in all sectors, including sports.`
“New Zealand sees its link with the Pacific as very much part of the same family and I think you’ll continue to see New Zealand engage in sports with Fiji and throughout the region and I don’t see that situation changing”
Fiji is New Zealand’s largest Pacific Island trading partner, and the only country in our region to rank among New Zealand’s top 20 trading partners.
