Fiji's largest Christmas tree lights up Suva

With four weeks to go till Christmas day, the excitement of the festive season is already building in the capital city.

Never failing in their pursuit each year to spread the Christmas cheer, Digicel Fiji, decided to make this year extra special.

The lighting of the largest Christmas tree in Suva was held at Ratu Sukuna Park last night.

Surrounded by a crowd of children, Minister for Tourism, Industry and Trade, Faiyaz Koya officially switched on the tree’s lights marking its first of forty-five days on display.

‘The generosity that Digicel Fiji has shown towards our kids that are needy and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping these children. And please, residents of Suva, make sure you help all these children, these children are the children of Fiji and they are our future’.

A donation box was placed near the tree last night with all donations going towards the Dilkusha and Saint Christopher’s homes.

The 12 meter high Christmas tree has been an annual fixture at the park since 2009.
