Fiji’s first heart screening center opens

Fiji’s first heart screening center was opened by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama today.

The center is located in the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical center in Nasese, Suva.

The center has state-of-the-art facilities that allows for real time screening.

With the opening of this center, Fijians will be able to get screened, diagnosed, and treated.

Today, 25 children will be screened and those in need of surgery will undertake the procedure from Monday.

Bainimarama acknowledges that this Centre promotes the government’s vision of a healthier country.

He adds Fijians through this center will receive specialized heart health care for free.

The Prime Minister has reiterated Fiji remains committed to providing the best health service, which is evident through the increased budgetary allocation in the 2018/2019 financial year.
