July 4, 2016 2:18 am

The Fiji Embassy in Brussels, Belgium is taking a proactive approach to engage with the ten European Union states it looks after.

Ambassador Deo Saran says there’s a lot that Fiji can learn from these EU nations.
He gave examples that France is a great resource in Sports with close to 300 Fijian rugby players and the Netherlands are world leaders in Hydrology.

“What we’re doing is that we are looking at all the countries that we have that the Embassy is looking after and see what competencies or expertise and areas that they have that we can relate to Fiji so we can start engaging with them to sort of see how we can benefit from these countries.”

The Fiji Embassy in Brussels was established in 1973 and is, second only to London; the oldest Foreign Embassy Fiji has abroad.
