Fijians are being urged to clean up their surroundings every week and destroy all mosquito breeding places.
This comes after a recent outbreak of dengue fever in Labasa and Macuata areas in the Northern division.
Two hundred and seventy-nine confirmed cases have been reported from these two areas in just four weeks.
Acting National Advisor Communicable Disease, Dr. Aalisha Sahukhan says there has been a notable increase in dengue fever cases.
Dr. Sahukhan says patients with dengue fever symptoms are being assessed and treated at the Dengue hub center and they are seeing about 13 cases per day.
She also confirms that no deaths have been recorded during the current outbreak, from November 20th last year to date.
