February 23, 2018 8:14 pm

The Employment Ministry will fine tune its screening process and physical fitness assessment to select reputable workers under the Recognized Seasonal Employment Scheme.

Minister, Jone Usamate says this is important as it will ensure Fijians perform up to par when they get employment under the Scheme.

Usamate is urging successful applicants who will be leaving for New Zealand soon to work hard.

“We have involved the community also in screening those that were proposed to go and work in New Zealand. The reputation enhances as we have improved our own processors here. It’s likely to reflect in their performances and that’s what has been happening. We had some very good feedback. There are still some issues that we need to iron out."

A group of Fijians are expected to leave for NZ soon to pick pine nuts.
