It’s important that Fijians are aware of their health status and to get regular check up’s at their nearest health centre.

Today, hundreds of Fijians took advantage of the free health public screening at Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva which saw many getting their sugar and pressure levels checked.

National Manager Blood and Ambulance Service, Joseva Bolaqale says these efforts are a preventative measure.

“The Ministry of Health is so fortunate this free clinic checkup so that we could also analyze the results of this at the end of the day. If it’s normal then it’s better for you to maintain but if you know it’s a bit high then you need to take some action.”

The health screening which ended in the last hour was an initiative carried out by medical staff from the Indian Naval Ship Sahyadri together with officers from the Fiji military and the Health Ministry.
