Hundreds of Fijians were able to receive an alignment for the first time over the week by the visiting chiropractors from the United States.

South Pacific Chiropractic Health and Wealth team wrapped up their service yesterday after travelling to villages in the West and Suva.

Chiropractor, Dr Austin Ivans says Fijians turned out in numbers to take advantage of alignment and were not disappointed.

Ivans adds while patients were happy, initially many did not understand the services that were being offered.

“It seems like there some that know what chiropractic is specifically, but many people have come and asked for a massage – which of course is very different. As a chiropractor, I work with the nervous system and we access the nervous system through the spine or the joints of the spine. Any other joint can be checked and adjusted through the spine. This is making sure that there is an optimal function in the nervous system.”

The team will return to Fiji in June and December to offer free chiropractic services across the nation.
