Today, along with people around the world, Fijian Muslims are celebrating the birth and life of the Prophet Muhammad.
Head Priest of Samabula Masjid Abdul Aleem says this occasion serves as an opportunity for everyone to reflect on their attitude and behaviour as individuals.
He says today Muslims remember the love and care shared by Prophet Muhammed.
“It’s something to learn. When we talk about someone that means we love him and we like him. We celebrate this day with all Fijians in this country. I would also like to thank the government for the public holiday so we all can celebrate and that’s how we unite the whole nation.”
He adds while celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad it’s important to live in harmony and respect everyone.
