Fijian to receive Queens Young Leaders Award

A Fijian is among 60 young people from across the Commonwealth chosen for the Queen’s Young Leaders Award for her exceptional community work.

22 year old Luisa Tuilauwill be awarded by the Queen Elizabeth the II.

Tuilau says she works with young people using art, poetry, traditional dance and native languages to increase awareness of issues such as climate change and women’s rights.

The Award, which will be presented in London in 2016 under the Queen’s Young Leaders Programme, celebrates the achievements of young people who are taking the lead to transform the lives of others and make a lasting difference in their communities.

Other recipients from the Pacific include Vanuatu, Nauru, Tonga, Kiribati and Tuvalu.
