There is a huge demand of Fijian teachers from Papua New Guinea.

Fiji’s High Commissioner to PNG Esala Teleni says some schools have directly approached the High Commission requesting for Fijian teachers while others are making enquiries.

Teleni is hoping to discuss the issue with the Permanently Secretary for Education before returning to PNG at the end of the week.

‘’They look at us in a more positive and a friendly way and that what also makes me confident to get more people to PNG, more business because they have that respect for Fijian people .They have already looking to Fiji for teachers.’’

Teleni says some Fijians are already holding high positions in the teaching fields at PNG.
