Fijian PM invited to Sustainable Summit in India next year

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has been invited to be part of the Sustainable Development Summit in India next January.

Energy and Resources Institute of India, Director-General, Dr Ajay Mathur while extending an invitation, also made a request for Bainimarama to present the Sustainable Development Leadership award to the next winner during the summit.

Dr Mathur also praises the policies put in place by the government in an effort to combat environmental damage in the country.

“Initiatives such as zero carbon, sovereign green bond and the environment and climate adaptation levy are long term strategies that the world can learn from.”

The invitation was made after Bainimarama received the Sustainable Development Leadership award yesterday from the institute.
