Fijian inmate wins art competition

The University of the South Pacific in celebrating its 50th Anniversary organized a visual art competition and exhibition, inviting submissions from twelve member countries.

Eight artists made the final cut – for their work to be exhibited at the newly opened Oceania Arts Center Gallery including serving inmates Aisake Amoe and Pauliasi Delaibatiki who were among the finalists.

Amoe however was awarded the main prize at a special ceremony earlier this week.

All art submitted had to be original and based on the theme: “Celebrating the Pacific, Shaping the Future.”
