A 63-year-old Fijian accused of murdering a Fijian woman in suburban Auckland, New Zealand has made his first court appearance.
3news New Zealand reports the man was granted interim name suppression when he appeared in Auckland District Court charged with murdering Bimla Wati.
Forty-seven year old Wati was found dead in her home in Rielly Place, Mt Wellington on Monday night after police were called to the address.
A man was also found at the property.
He was granted interim name suppression by Judge Heather Simpson to give him time to break the news to family members.
The accused man, who has been in hospital for the past three days and who had extensive bandages on both arms, was remanded in custody without plea and will reappear in the High Court in Auckland later this month.
