June 2, 2018 10:53 pm

The fashion revolution is here was the phrase on repeat last night at the culmination of the Bottega Fijian Fashion Festival.

Fashion Council of Fiji Chair – Faraz Ali says the entire production was run by a team of young and upcoming all-rounders that work in every facet of the fashion sector from designing to modelling to event management and public relations.

He says this concept is something the council is advocating with the goal to grow the industry into a formidable business.

“Like obviously every single one of our events was sold out. It means that people were ready for a new way of doing things, for a revolution in fashion. We started off saying that we wanted to change the way that people view and consume fashion in Fiji and Fijian designers, we’ve achieved that. Next year you can expect a much bigger show."

The Fashion Festival showcased 23 designers both locally and overseas based over three days ending last night with a group show.

Meanwhile renowned designers such as Hupfeld Hoerder, Aisea Konrote and Zulifkar Ali yesterday took to the runway for individual shows in which each of them displayed their designs of some 40 to 60 garments, one of the biggest collections to ever be held in Fiji for the first time.

The delayed coverage of the Bottega Fijian Fashion Festival shows will be aired on FBC TV at a later date.
