The United States is paying attention to economic growth in Fiji and the trade potential it represents.
Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Tong is here for a regional meeting on trade and deepening economic ties with the Pacific.
Tong says there are options in the service sector where Americans would be interested to invest.
“There is great potential for further growth including potential for growth in foreign investment in some of the sectors which seems particularly promising; tourism services including logistics, medicine or other important services that can operate on a regional basis.”
Tong says Fiji needs to aggressively market its products in the United States which presents a market worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
