Fiji wants to adopt Singaporean business method: Ali

Fiji wants to adopt the Singaporean method of doing business says Permanent Secretary for Industry, Shaheen Ali.

Ali says Singapore streamlines processes which provides an opportunity of ease for doing business.

He also adds in order to attract international businesses, Fiji needs to modernise and streamline processes.

Ali says the government has provided an enabling environment for domestic and foreign investments to flourish.

He says the introduction of the Regulation of Building Permits Act will allow them to fast track permit approvals.

He says the time taken by all the agencies is unnecessarily lengthy, which eventually increases the time and cost to acquire necessary approvals.
