Fiji to discuss defence cooperation with Indonesia

The Minister of Defence and National Security, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola is in Jakarta to attend the Indo Defence Expo and Forum, Indonesia’s official tri-service defence, aerospace, helicopter and maritime security event this week.

The Expo is an annual event where more than 68 countries from around the world showcase their military equipment including the latest developments in defence technology.

The Indo Defence Expo is also a platform for holding bilateral talks on defence cooperation between countries.

Kubuabola met with his counterpart, the Defence Minister of Indonesia, General (Ret.) Ryamizard Ryacudu to reaffirm defence commitment and heighten relations between the two countries.

The Minister is accompanied by the Director Peacekeeping Unit, Lt Col Pacolo Luveni and senior officials from the Ministry of Defence and National Security.

The Fijian delegation will return to Fiji tomorrow.
