Developing Fiji into an economic power house for the entire Pacific region will prove our ability to perform as a country.

Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says this is one of government’s long term goals which is only possible if resources are managed properly.

“To ensure that Fiji economically becomes the power house in the South Pacific and to be able to do that we need to be able to divert our resources both in hard infrastructure that is putting up buildings buying things and construction. Soft infrastructure which is your technology, IT system and human resources development. If you are able to get those in alignment then your ability to perform as a country is unlimited.”

Sayed-Khaiyum was speaking at the announcement of a bonus pay out for more than three hundred employees of Fiji ports in Suva.
