Imam Afroz says although Fiji isn’t at risk of such recruitments, there are some who are taking an interest in the terrorist group.

“There is evidence that in fact people in Fiji have been accessing videos and information about IS which is not necessarily available to the public but you’d have to have contact with people who may be involved with IS in terms of recruitment. It is a matter that we need to be alert about but not alarmed about.”

Imam Afroz says moderate Muslims around the world have denounced the Islamic State terrorist group and are actively campaigning against it.
