National adviser for Oral Health Dr Joan Lal says there is a lot of work required to improve oral health.

“When our students leave primary and go to secondary we realize that they stopped brushing and they start developing a lot of holes in their teeth and a lot of cavities so we would like to promote tooth brushing in secondary schools and tertiary institution in Fiji.”

Tooth brushing day creates a more practical awareness of the importance of tooth brushing to prevent dental caries.
