The Fiji Police Force is independent and is not subject to political manipulation.

Defence, National Security and Immigration Minister Timoci Natuva rose in Parliament today to answer a question posed by Opposition MP Mosese Bulitavu.

“I meet with the Commander of Police and the Commander of the RFMF every fortnight so pending issues is discussed. Pending issues are discussed and any issues in regards to national security I refer to the Prime Minister for guidance.”

The Minister also reiterated that queries regarding the Force can be addressed to him and he will look into the matter.
