The Fiji Police Force has come out strongly against rumors that a student from a prominent Tailevu boarding school was assaulted.

Officers have been receiving calls from concerned citizens regarding a student who was allegedly assaulted by his seniors and later died.

Director Police Operations SSP Maretino Qiolevu today visited the Korovou Police station to seek clarifications on the reports.

Qiolevu has spoken with teachers from both Tailevu schools and it’s executives who have clarified that no such incident has occurred.

Police are now advising the public to refrain from spreading the rumors as it could lead to panic amongst parents and guardians.
